Kevin A. Williams, also known as “WAK” (his initials written backwards), is a best-selling and popular African American artist who has
become a household name among art lovers and collectors. He has created over 50 prints with images covering a diverse range of themes. He
is as well known for his religious and inspirational prints as he is for his erotic and romantic prints.
The Chicago native began his art career in 1995 with a single print titled “Taking Her Back”. That print spawned four other similarly
themed prints in a blockbuster series he calls his “Black Love” series. A commission by a major hair care company inspired a series of
popular hair salon themed prints as well as other beauty industry commissions. In 1998 Williams created a series of Black Greek prints
depicting Black fraternities and sororities. Among his proudest achievements were recent commissions for the late comedian Bernie Mac and
TV celebrity Oprah Winfrey.
Kevin Williams lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and young daughter.
