Byrma Braham is a graduate of the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and pursued a graduate degree in Communications at the New School for Social Research in New York City. She worked several years as an instructor of languages and has significant work experience in Public Relations and Communication.

She has been an art dealer and collector of African American art for over 14 years. In 1985 she co-founded one of New York City's first full service Black Art galleries. That partnership lasted until 1995, when she moved to Atlanta. She later entered into a partnership with Lynn Porter of Wind Walker Fine Art to form Avisca Graphics, the Atlanta area based art retailing and consulting business.

A knowledgeable and articulate authority on African American Art and the business of selling art, Byrma has lectured and consulted extensively on the subjects and has curated a number of exhibitions.

Her strong commitment to quality art, high ethical standards and good customer service has garnered her a long list of loyal customers.

 

Lynn Porter is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Southern California. She managed investment portfolios at U.S. Steel Corporation during an 18-year tenure there. In 1993, she left to fulfill a dream to work with art and represent her father, the nationally known artist Henry C. Porter, and to manage the publication division of his company, Wind Walker Fine Art.

She has successfully marketed her father's work to many prominent private collectors and corporations and significantly increased sales of his fine art prints through trade shows, art shows and direct mail.

She brings to Avisca Graphics a life long passion for art, enormous business skills and a sincere enjoyment of working with people.
